The Broadband Investment Index (BIIX) for Germany
The BIIX is calculated as the product of inhabitants per km² and the number of Main Distribution Frames (MDF) per km². For the analysis data of 413 administrative districts has been taken into account.
All 112 evaluated cities are listed within the first 167 ranks. The first rural district is Mettman, located near Düsseldorf, ranked 53rd. Almost all rural districts rank on lower parts of the list, from position 168 on only rural districts can be found. The range of values reaches from 773.13 (Munich) to 0.43 (Mecklenburg-Strelitz) in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
